Limanowa is a small town (population 14,000) in southern Poland, in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. Limanowa pretends to be administrative, economic, and cultural center. During the Second World War there was a ghetto in Limanowa in which the German occupiers murdered 50% of Jewish population of Limanowa. There was also a refinery taken over by the Germans and being one of the main sources of oil for German army in this part of Poland.
